Happiness

Oh my GOD! Was my instinctive reaction as ever,
When I saw that Old rich man in his Range Rover.
Shining with pride in his ironed Royal blue Armani,
With a smile on bright face, sipping from silver cup.
I gathered my courage to address him, stammering,
Uncle! How does it feel encompassed in such merriment?
He saw me through his Golden glasses and smiled,
Oh my dear son! You are thinking wrong I'm afraid.
This prosperity, this richness is certainly not my happiness,
I gazed into his eyes with astonishment and reticence.
He instantly understood my dilemma and silence,
Patted on my shoulder with love, that gentleman.
Smiled, Oh my dear son! Listen what happiness mean,
Happiness was when I was born and saw the world, my family,
It was when I was a kid and my parents played with me silly.
My father when returned home from a busy day's work and welcomed,
Hi Champ! He used to pat on my back, was the instant happiness.
When I grew older, it was with my friends in endless talks.
Happiness I saw in the eyes of my beloved on the day of our wedding,
And it was there too when we were blessed with our offspring.
My dear kid! Happiness is in the pure moments we share,
With our loved ones, friends, family and in their care.
This only is the abstract of my life, which I have learnt,
Richness may be just an ease, but HAPPINESS is what a real comfort.
